Der Begriff des Integrativen Designs wird auf seine Bestandteile Integration und Design hin untersucht, und seine Entwicklung wird über das Social Design zum Institut Integrative Gestaltung | Masterstudio verfolgt. Um neue integrative Gestaltungsprozesse am gesamten Campus der Künste anzustoßen, schafft der Masterplan:Freiraum den Studierenden einen Raum und die Möglichkeit des Austauschs und der interdisziplinären Arbeit.
 
Masterplan:Freiraum examines the term Integrative Design through its constituents integration and design, following its development from early Social Design to the Institute Integrative Design | Masterstudio. In order to initiate new integrative design processes involving the entire Campus of the Arts, the project creates a space for the students as well as opportunities for exchange and interdisciplinary work.
