This Master’s thesis explores whether digital letterforms can visually express the passage of time through morphological transformation. Unlike human bodies, which age through accumulated biological change, digital letterforms are typically reproduced without visible aging.

Through experiments applying decay, wear, cracks, fractal structures, and human aging traits such as posture, wrinkles, elasticity, gravity, and white hair, the study translates traces of time into typographic form.

The findings suggest that letterforms can be understood not as fixed two-dimensional symbols, but as temporal and spatial structures capable of accumulating and expressing visible traces of time.
