This Master’s thesis is a visual educational project that explains the complex process of the heartbeat in an accessible way.
Using a card set or booklet, the heartbeat is divided into five sequential stages and presented from three perspectives: electrical conduction, muscle contraction, and blood flow.
Each stage is supported by illustrations that show how these processes interact as one coordinated sequence. Through the Artivive app, the illustrations can also be scanned and experienced as augmented reality animations, adding an interactive layer that helps make the movement and timing of the heartbeat easier to understand.
