This Master’s thesis is a series of five short documentary portraits of Ukrainians living in Switzerland after being forcibly displaced by the war. Rather than focusing only on trauma, the project looks at what everyday life becomes after arrival: routines, language, work, relationships, memory, and belonging.
Each episode follows a different person and develops its own rhythm and visual approach. Together, the films show that there is no single experience of displacement and explore how documentary storytelling can represent people as complex individuals whose lives continue beyond the moment of crisis.
