This Master’s thesis investigates whether the screenshot can be understood as a form of photography. The screenshot is one of the most common images we produce, yet it is treated as a mere utility, a file to save and delete, and rarely regarded as an image at all.

The project asks what happens, visually and conceptually, when the screenshot adopts photographic logic instead of capture logic.

The work proposes that the screenshot, commonly reduced to a utility, can be understood and practised as a form of photography, a trace of the screen, made with light, over time, and with intention.
