This thesis explores reproduction as both a method and material condition in practice-based artistic research. Through the development of Red Shelf—an architectural installation serving as a book archive, exhibition structure, and social space—it examines how copying, translation, and redistribution shape form, use, and authorship.
Rather than opposing originality, reproduction is presented as a productive process that enables artistic work. Drawing on histories of underground publishing and informal circulation, the thesis argues that reproduction functions as a material, social, and critical practice through which knowledge, authorship, and artistic production are continuously transformed.
