Through literature review, field research, and practical experiments, this Master’s thesis explores how contemporary technologies might be subverted to foster practices of sufficiency and communal emancipation through knowledge accessibility. The author argues that the current context of polycrisis underlines the dangers of capitalist infrastructure dependencies.

This research involves the documentation of field trips alongside communities and individuals embracing autonomous lifestyles, the creation of an experimental digital platform designed to improve access to do-it-yourself knowledge, and the reference to subsequent theoretical frameworks.

The broader aim of this work is to advance practices of sufficiency as realistic and desirable alternatives while reducing dependence on hegemonic infrastructures.
