This Bachelor’s thesis explores how culture influences identity and challenges the expectation that multicultural backgrounds can be reduced to a simple answer.

The publication begins with factual answers like birthplace and nationality, then memory, to how culture appears in the present day. These elements are translated into percentages and visualised through an infographic system, combining objective and subjective methods of analysis to reveal the limits of measuring culture.

The visual system starts within a grid before gradually breaking out of it, using image layering, black and white images and close up documentation.

The publication shows identity as layered, always changing and difficult to simply define.
