What Else?
Interweaving the Analogue and the Digital in a Post-digital Age

The rapid, dynamic and ongoing development of digital media has brought radical changes not only to the so far media constellation, but also for everyday life. The socalled digital world is closely linked with the analogue (if they were ever separated at all). The shift is so universal that it cannot be ignored any longer. This thesis examines the changes in the field of literature and plays with combining content from both analogue and digital environments after the example of Arthur Schnitzlerʹs novel Fräulein Else. What happens when a classical text goes online? How is it received in the structures of interlinking and social media? How can it find its way back into a printed surrounding? Is this even reasonable? This work regards itself as an experimental, playful approach in order to point out the interweaving between analogue and digital structures and to raise awareness of the topic.
